How to Make Gravy

I'm a beginner and I will be teaching you how to make homemade gravy. Gravy is a sauce made by adding stock, flour, or other ingredients to the juice and fat that drips from cooking meats.

Step 1: Heat Pan before Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of oil

Heat and oil the pan properly to control the cooking process. The temperature should be med to med-high. Heat until pan is hot, but not to burn the pan.

Step 2: Making the Gravy

Making the Gravy
  • 1 diced onion
  • 4 oz of flour
  • 1 garlic
  • 2 oz of celery

Add the ingredients to the pan and add water to deglaze the gravy. You can add cold butter for flavor.

Step 3: Simmering

Simmering

Let the gravy simmer until done and let cool for serving.
